One
of Mr. Schwarzenegger's staff called me
again and requested I attend their bus tour
and rally in Arcadia at the Los Angeles
Aboretum, at 7:30 a.m. At the rally, in
order to pass the time before the speakers
appeared, we distributed about 500 "Post
the Finances" bumper
stickers.
The stickers are available, one per request,
limited supply, from postthefinances.com
by emailing us at bumpersticker@postthefinances.com
Mr. Schwarzenegger supports this idea.
He wants
to open up the State's books and conduct
a thorough audit of the State. But of course
the main reason we were there was not to
distribute stickers but to hear Arnold.
The
first of many speakers was the beautiful
actress Tia Carrera, who sang Arnold’s
praises. Tia is from Hawaii and has acted
in many movies, including "True Lies"
with Arnold. She also played Mike Myers'
girlfriend Cassandra in "Wayne's World".
Many other speakers built up a convincing
case as to why Arnold should be the next
governor of California. Finally, Arnold
himself spoke, inspiring his supporters
to keep up their efforts until polling day.
After Arnold's speech, I met Darrel Issa
again and gave him a "Post
the Finances" bumper
sticker.
I also met Linda S. Boyd, Chairman of the
Republican Party Los Angeles County. Linda
won a hotly-contested race for chairman
in January. She has since proved a dynamic
leader and organizer and is in the process
of revitalizing the Republican Party in
Los Angeles County.
Linda
and I spoke about the Post
the Finances initiative,
and she loved the idea. I mentioned I'd
receive the petitions this coming week as
the initiative enters its third phase. She
gave me Alan Smith's name and telephone
number and asked me to bring some petitions
forms down to the office to leave them there
for signatures.
